As a graduate of the Juilliard School and a member of Chicago, Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Houston Symphony Orchestras I am very impressed by this Beethoven CD. Both Mr. Pianka and Mr. Za play with strong musical conviction and fabulous quality. The recording engeneer also showed understanding of balance between the 2 instruments as well as natural quality of sound. It is rare that you get to hear Beethoven played so straighforwardly yet subtlely, beautifully but heroically, passionately but tastefully. I should also add that this is especially impressive given that this CD was recorded Live and has tremendous excitement about it. Bravo to these outstanding artists.
